Melissa Fogarty
Soprano Melissa Fogarty's new recording "Handel: Scorned & Betrayed"won a 2006 Outmusic Award in the Best Debut Recording - Female category. She recently appeared with Pulitzer prize winning composer David Del Tredici at the Rockwood Music Hall performing the song cycle "Miz Inez Sez." They will perform it again at the composer's 70th Birthday celebration next season at Sarah Lawrence College. Ms. Fogarty has performed in many early music groups such as New York Collegium, Seattle Baroque, ARTEK and contemporary groups such as NewBand, NeWorks, and Isle of Klezbos. She also can be heard on WNYC's Overnight Music as a radio host.
