Ricardo Romaneiro, Ryan Francis, Leo Leite re-conceptualize Stravinsky’s revolutionary The Rite of Spring in a ground-breaking live remix.

Metropolis Ensemble, led by Artistic Director/Conductor Andrew Cyr, presents the world premieres of: THE RITE: REMIXED and Romaneiro’s TWO-PART BELIEF (poetry by Christopher Cahill), soprano Hila Plitmann.  Also on the program, his SYNTHETIC MOSAIC: II with pianist Ola Gjeilo. Be among the first to experience NYC's newest music venue, LPR.

A hyper-kinetic show of future-forward electro-classical beats also featuring minimal tech house by guest DJs on interactive laptops.

Metropolis Ensemble invites you to experience the latest in live electro-classical performance: THE RITE: REMIXED, followed by Ricardo Romaneiro’s futuristic DIGITAL CITIES, journeying through rhythm-inspired sonic-scapes and kaleidoscopic patterns that accelerate into the after-party.  Guest artists and DJs to be announced.

Wordless Music Series pairs Metropolis Ensemble and indie sensation Deerhoof for a night of music under the stars.

Ronen Givony’s trademark mix of contemporary classical, post-rock, and electronica is staged at Celebrate Brooklyn for an expected audience of 10,000. Metropolis Ensemble’s THE RITE: REMIXED explodes the boundaries of live electro-classical music. Also on the program, Romaneiro’s TWO-PART BELIEF, soprano Hila Plitmann.

About synthetic mosaic: ii

Synthetic Mosaic: II is a collaboration between Ricardo Romaneiro performing live electronics and pianist/composer Ola Gjeilo known for his improvisations. This work is a revised version of Synthetic Mosaic (2005), with soundscapes and floating piano improvisations, it takes the listener on a journey from light to dark then back to light.

Ricardo Romaneiro joins forces with Ryan Francis and Leo Leite to re-conceptualize the most revolutionary work of the 20th Century, Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, through the lens of the latest sounds and technology from electronica. Combined with acoustic forces of a huge percussion and brass ensemble, two keyboards, two laptops, and electric bass, The Rite: Remixed will fuse a futuristic, rhythm-inspired sonic tableaux with a hyper-kinetic visual show.
