Praised by the New York Times for "sophisticated, hard-driving and stylistically omnivorous music making", DITHER, a New York based electric guitar quartet, is dedicated to an eclectic mix of experimental repertoire which spans composed, improvised, and electronic music. Formed in 2007, the quartet (Taylor Levine, Joshua Lopes, James Moore, and Brendon Randall-Myers) has performed across the United States and abroad at the Guggenheim Museum, Bang on a Can Marathon, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, The Barbican, and Winter Jazz Fest. Collaborators include Fred Frith, Mary Halvorson, David Lang, Lee Ranaldo, Yo La Tengo, John Zorn. The New Yorker called their annual Extravaganza an "official concert on the edge." More Info »
Michael Gordon
Co-founder of Bang on a Can, Michael Gordon has produced a strikingly diverse body of work and is known for monumental, immersive works including Timber, Decasia, and Rushes. Honored by the Guggenheim Foundation, NEA, and American Academy of Arts and Letters, Gordon’s music distorts traditional instruments with electronic effects and guitar pedals, creating hypnotic soundscapes.
