About Francisco Fullana

The young, joyful Spanish violinist’s meteoric rise among the current generation of emerging violin virtuosi has included a wealth of awards, accolades, professional appointments, and educational initiatives.  Fullana has earned international acclaim for his “joy and playfulness” (New York Classical Review) in his interpretations, which range from the giants of the classical canon to world premiere performances.

Born in Mallorca to a family of educators, Fullana is a graduate of Juilliard and the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, where his working relationship with his mentor, Midori, began and continues to flourish.  In addition to being a member of Lincoln Center’s Chamber Music Society (II) and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, he is also co-founder of the San Antonio Classical Music Summer Institute, currently serving as their Chamber Music Director. Fullana is also the creator of the Fortissimo Youth Initiative (FYI), a series of intensive workshops in partnership with number of youth and university orchestras worldwide, focusing on developing a lasting affinity for the performance practices of eighteenth century classical music. Fullana joined Metropolis Ensemble while an undergraduate at The Juilliard School.

This recording, Fullana’s album debut, is a fascinating, holistic blend of new music fused with, and with the utmost respect for, the classical traditions, officially released March 2, and is on top of “The A-List: Classical” on Apple Music.
