About the Concert
(le) Poisson Rouge, NAXOS, America-Israel Cultural Foundation, NYC House Concerts, Who's In My Fund?, and Metropolis Ensemble invite you to a FREE party on Thursday, December 16 (7pm) at (le) Poisson Rouge to celebrate our Grammy Nomination. Avi Avital's solo performance on Metropolis Ensemble's first studio album, Avner Dorman's Concertos, earned him a Grammy nomination, as well as Conductor Andrew Cyr with Metropolis Ensemble. David Frost also received a Producer of the Year Grammy nomination for his work on five albums, including his recording of Avner Dorman's Concertos.
Drop by and join us as mandolinist and Grammy nominee Avi Avital performs with Andrew Cyr and Metropolis Ensemble musicians throughout the evening. Selections will include excerpts from Avner Dorman's vibrant, genre-bending Mandolin Concerto and more! Attendees will have the opportunity to toast with Avi, Metropolis artists, and Artistic Director / Conductor Andrew Cyr. Two free drinks per attendee, live music, raffle prizes, and all your friends!
Avi Avital is an Israeli mandolin player (born 1978) and graduate of the Jerusalem Music Academy and the Padua Conservatory. Metropolis Ensemble is a nonprofit professional chamber orchestra dedicated to emerging the next generation of performers and composers.
