In this concert, performers Clara Kim and Joann Whang (members of the Argus Quartet) return to Metropolis Ensemble @ 1 Rivington with Jocelin Pan (viola), Adda Kridler (violin), and guest clarinetist, Phillip Solomon.
They will perform works by composers of the TESSELAT collective. TESSELAT was founded by Jean-Patrick Besingrand and Chatori Shimizu in 2018. The newly formed composers’ collective aims to promote diverse styles in the music of today, to deliver accessible new music to audiences around the world, and engage with composers and ensembles around the world.
TESSELAT is proud to have composers from eight different countries, currently based in nine different cities across Asia, Europe, and North America. The concert will feature works by Ramin Akhavijou, Jean-Patrick Besingrand, Amy Brandon, He He, Daphné Hejebri, Piyawat Louilarpprasert, Yukari Misawa, Chatori Shimizu, Tomasz Skweres and Sam Wu, and will include several world and US premieres.
