About the Concert
Metropolis Ensemble recognizes that New York City's cultural organizations have the enormous potential to make a special contribution to quality of life and education of inner-city school children. Youth Works seeks to encourage creativity and self-expression through teaching of the art and craft of music composition to public school children in New York City.
Join us as we unite our three partners (The TEAK Fellowship, The Reciprocity Foundation, and Kaufman Center's ComposerCraft) and our affiliate partner, LREI's Young Composers and Improvisors Workshop, to present our inaugural Youth Works public concert, featuring student compositions as performed by Metropolis Ensemble musicians. 100% of ticket proceeds will benefit next season's Youth Works program and provide each student a CD/DVD of their composition.
Metropolis Ensemble's Youth Works program is sponsored by Con Edison. Major support for the Youth Works concert provided by (le) Poisson Rouge, with additional generous support from: Crosswicks Foundation, The Richard Salomon Family Foundation, NYCDCA, and NYSCA. WQXR's Q2 Music is a digital partner for the Youth Works concert, recording this performance for online archive.
