Deandre Desir

Deandre Desir is a fourth year undergraduate at the Juilliard School and recipient of the Jerome L. Greene full tuition scholarship. Mr. Desir is the principal tubist of the Montclair Orchestra and serves as tuba faculty for the Metropolitan Concert Artists and ECTA Organization. He also serves as an Ear Training and Music Theory faculty for the Juilliard Pre-College as well as Teaching Fellow for the Juilliard Graduate Ear Training program. He frequently performs with his brass quintet Brass22 around the New York area in order to bring brass repertoire to those who may not have access to it otherwise. Mr. Desir has performed with musicians from the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony, New York City Ballet,  Philadelphia Orchestra, the American Brass Quintet and is a finalist of the 2017 International Tuba and Euphonium Competition. 

 

In his free time, Deandre enjoys exercising, reading political theory, practicing Japanese, researching audio engineering, collecting artwork, and eagerly awaiting the last two releases of a seven book series titled “A Song of Ice and Fire”.
