Elijah Shiffer
Elijah Shiffer is a New York-based saxophonist and composer. He is the leader of the Robber Crabs, a quartet combining the influences of early jazz and avant-garde jazz. The Robber Crabs' debut album, "Unhinged", was released in 2018. Elijah has performed in a wide variety of venues around New York City as both a leader and a sideman. Other bands he's recorded with include the klezmer group Klazz-Ma-Tazz and guitarist Xander Naylor's Sound Machine. He also plays frequently in the Shrine Big Band, New York's only regularly performing free-jazz big band. Elijah works for the jazz publishing company Second Floor Music and is featured in several videos on their website jazzleadsheets.com.
