A native of St. Louis, Grammy Award winning violinist Henry William Wang has been described by the Washington Post as an artist "that makes the audience cheer lustily.”
He serves as Artist Engagement Director of Metropolis Ensemble, bringing exceptional musical credentials and industry knowledge to talent recruitment, auditions, and production coordination.
A Juilliard School graduate, Henry maintains active performance relationships across New York's premier musical institutions, including substitute positions with the New York Philharmonic. His extensive network enables him to recruit top-tier musicians while maintaining professional standards. His role encompasses designing production schedules that accommodate both traditional orchestral practices and Metropolis's unique site-specific collaborations.
He has won several engagements as soloist with orchestras including the University of Chicago Chamber Orchestra, the Alton Symphony Orchestra, the University City Symphony, the Belleville Philharmonic, and the Saint Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Venues of solo performances have included The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Powell Symphony Hall. Currently residing in New York, Henry performs with various ensembles including the the New York Classical Players, Metropolis Ensemble, Trinity Wall Street NOVUS ensemble, Quodlibet Ensemble, the Manhattan Chamber Players, and is a substitute member of the New York Philharmonic.
