Sivan Cohen Elias
Sivan Cohen Elias is an electroacoustic experimental composer and intermedia artist, originally from Israel, who aims to expand the field of sound art into new mixed-media experiences and to sharpen the connection between our senses. She received numerous international awards, residencies, and commissions including Impuls competition, Akademie Schloss Solitude fellowship, Ernst von Siemens commissions, Music Theatre Composition Competition Staatstheater, Darmstadt, and most recently she has received the Fromm Commission Award. She obtained her B.Ed.Mus and MMus degrees from the Jerusalem Academy of Music, and Tel-Aviv University, respectively, and earned her Ph.D. from Harvard University. Currently, she lives in New York and teaches electronic music performance at New York University.
