Project In Brief
Metropolis Ensemble and Blueprints Piano Series collaborated to produce a 13-event festival centered around conversations about the piano.
The festival featured 20 pianists, 28 living composers, and 10 instrumental collaborators.
The project brought together seemingly disparate jazz artists and improvisers, classical and contemporary specialists.
βThe last few concerts in this co-presentation by the Blueprints Piano Series and the composer-and-performer collective Metropolis Ensemble bring an intriguing array of mostly contemporary, mostly piano works to the Bowery.β (The New Yorker)
