Two studio albums produced with Metropolis Ensemble are on the ballot for the first round of voting (October 11-20, 2023) for the 2024 GRAMMY Awards.

 
 
 

Tyondai Braxton: Telekinesis

Released November 11, 2022 on New Amsterdam and Nonesuch Records

On the ballot for:

  • Best Contemporary Classical Music Composition

  • Best Orchestral Performance

  • Best Engineered Album, Classical

  • Producer of the Year, Classical

Telekinesis received a nomination for Germany's 2023 Opus Klassik and The New York Times hailed the studio recording as “a joy... the next big statement.”

The studio recording features Metropolis Ensemble (conducted by Andrew Cyr), the Brooklyn Youth Chorus (conducted by Dianne Berkun Menaker), and chamber choir The Crossing (conducted by Donald Nally).

Produced by Tyondai Braxton and Andrew Cyr; engineered by Ryan Streber; edited by Tyondai Braxton; mixed at Machines with Magnets by Seth Manchester; and mastered at Metropolis Mastering by Matt Colton.

 

Christopher Cerrone and Stephanie Fleischmann: In A Grove

Released July 7, 2023 on In A Circle Records

On the ballot for:

  • Best Opera Recording

  • Best Contemporary Classical Composition

  • Best Engineered Album, Classical

In A Grove was celebrated by The New York Times as "Vividly produced… carefully considered for the studio… commanding attention until the end.”

The studio recording features music by Christopher Cerrone, libretto by Stephanie Fleischmann; performed by Metropolis Ensemble (conducted by Andrew Cyr) with singers John Taylor Ward, Chuanyuan Liu, Andrew Turner, and Lindsay Kesselman.
