Get a preview of Biophony: SoundGarden at Brooklyn Botanic Garden from composer Ricardo Romaneiro and Metropolis artists.

Ricardo Romaneiro was commissioned by Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Metropolis Ensemble to create this special healing experience. BBG’s indoor conservatories will be transformed into an immersive sanctuary where plants will be connected to sensors, generating binaural soundscapes created by plant frequencies, and accompanied by musicians scattered throughout each of the ecosystem for a truly unique sonic experience.

We hope you will join us as we delve into an immersive soundbath and light installation that merges live performance with electronic soundscapes. No two experiences will be alike! You can explore each conservatory ecosystem to discover a unique soundscape performance by live musicians. Together and separately, these performances tap into our breath and brain frequencies to create a connected and unified experience.

About Ricardo Romaneiro

Brazilian-born composer and Juilliard graduate, Ricardo Romaneiro, synthesizes classical and electronic music. He previously created “The Rite: Remixed,” a Metropolis commissioned work performed at Celebrate Brooklyn! in 2008 and “Brownstone,” a 360-degree composition performed at American Irish Historical Society in 2016. Romaneiro is co-founder of Subhaze, an audiovisual studio creating immersive concert installations that transcend the traditional performance experience.
