brilliant...astounding
— New York Times

A Resident Artist Series Concert**

Pianist Conor Hanick, described as “brilliant” and “astounding” by the New York Times, collaborates with composer Ryan Francis (“shimmering”, “focused” and “warmly lyrical” (New York Times), who applies his longstanding passion for keyboard composition towards a new work** for Prophet-6, an iconic six-voice analog synthesizer.

Drawing inspiration from great keyboard cycles of the past, such as Couperin's L'Art de toucher le Clavecin as well as Hans Otte's modern piano masterwork The Book of Sounds, Francis has created a large scale composition that draws character not only from the sensitivity of the performer's interpretation, but the diverse sonic canvas of the Prophet-6 itself.

**Metropolis Ensemble’s Resident Artist Series is made possible with funds generously provided by The June Wu Artist Fund and The Friends of June Wu.
